Can the Laws of Attraction and Science be the Same?
Dear Friend,
The laws governing Quantum Physics and all of science for that matter seem complicated especially to those of us not involved in science. And much of science is still theoretical and therefore even scientists are unsure about a great deal. We have quite a way to go before we could beam you up or transport you somewhere else like in the Star Trek television series. Yet the realms of spirituality and science continue to converge. And if you have watched the movies What the Bleep Do We Know and The Secret then you are probably or will at some point be wondering what the real connection is between the law of attraction and science.
The focus for this week is based on a question sent to me by a Relationship Coach friend of mine, Nan Einarson. This question is one I am often asked in my seminars and courses and relates to both the laws of attraction (manifesting what you desire) and the laws of physics. Read below to see what I mean... It is a great question...
Hi Josh - I was out tonight with some friends, and I was talking about the Law of Attraction, and "like attracts like". Someone said that they thought that opposites attract - as in magnets, negative and positive attract one another, while negative-negative and positive-positive repel one another.
Well, I must admit I was stumped. Maybe I've missed something in my own interpretation. I'm the first one to admit I don't know everything, so I said I'd ask my friend and colleague who is an expert in the Law of Attraction, to provide me with an answer to this supposed contradiction. I hope you have one!! J
Thanks -
Nan
Here is my response to this great question:
Hi Nan,
Yes, you have come to the right place!:)
Are you ready for this... it is absolutely beautiful...
All things are attracting! ... positively and negatively charged particles attract each other (for the sake of this question, it is best not to call them opposites as this confuses the point for most). Positives do not attract positives because their match is a negative. Just like the perfect match for a negative is a positive. Therefore when you put the two together, they do not connect. It is akin to a heterosexual male and homosexual female not being attracted to each other or not really connecting romantically with each other.
Romantically and socially we are always attracting a perfect match to who we are... either through our desires or wanting of that person (which comes from wanting to experience a part of ourselves, which is more than likely dormant) or through our attention to a certain quality that we like (which is also already a part of who we are).
Most individuals who say that they are with their opposite, are actually with their like, they just haven't realized it. I have met several individuals who have attempted to debunk this theory by saying that well, I love dramas and light films, while my boyfriend likes actions and comedies. We are totally opposite and yet that is what attracts me to him...
Here is the key... it is very likely that although she does not like watching the movies that are actions and comedies, it is very likely that she has a great sense of humor and is very action oriented in her life. So her outer interest may just not reflect her inner.
None-the-less she still has it in her or she wouldn't be attracted to him. It is like a mirror...most people simply do not notice the frame... they are often attracted to themselves, even if the things they see they do not like... this is still attraction.
The real question that is underlying all of this though is, why don't negative charges attract negative charges and positive charges attract positive charges? This question, at this point in our understanding of physics and quantum mechanics actually can't be answered yet... this is a leading edge question for science that perhaps we will one day understand.
Can you feel your brain getting warm? Mine is!:)
With the e-zine coming out today I wanted to offer something unique to you as a reader and so I was sending the vibes yesterday that something unique would come to me and this was perfect!
Talk about Law of Attraction and manifesting!;)
Here is a quote from the incredible Fictional Book (based on a great deal of non-fictional elements and science), Angels and Demons by Dan Brown, also the author of the Da Vinci Code...
"Faith is universal. Our specific methods for understanding it are arbitrary. Some of us pray to Jesus, some of us to Mecca, some of us study subatomic particles. In the end, we are all just searching for truth, that which is greater than ourselves."
With this in mind, have a great week of attraction and until next time Be-Inspired!
Warmly,
Joshua
